Urban conflicts:

The role, functions, structure of urban public spaces as a place of communication and territorial identity are changing. During the last decade, transformation of public spaces in post-Soviet metropolitan centers was significant and characterized by their commercialization, sacralization and increasing role of indoor public spaces (malls).

Research questions: What are the transformations take place in public spaces in metropolises? How is the perception of the urban space of large cities changing? What kinds of conflicts take place in open public spaces?
